FAQs
How much does an annual vignette cost in the Czech Republic?
The table below shows you more about the price for a yearly vignette in Czech Republic. 365-day vignette – €116.75. This vignette is valid for 13 months and can only be purchased from December of the previous year onwards, which means it will be valid until January 31st of the following year. For example, if you buy a digital vignette for Czech on January 1st, 2024, it will be valid until January 31st, 2025.
When should I buy my digital vignette?
Like most European countries, Czechia has a toll system based on purchasing an e-vignette. If you plan to drive motorways or expressways, you have to purchase a vignette BEFORE entering toll sections to avoid violations, fines, and other problems during your journey. Make sure your vignette is registered before entering the country.
How much is the fine without a vignette in the Czech Republic?
A vignette is required in the Czech Republic. If your vehicle is not registered and it does not have a valid toll vignette, the Police and Customs Administration of the Czech Republic will be notified. Failure to comply with the vignette requirement can result in fines, and driving without a valid vignette can also have legal consequences. The fine for such offenses can be as high as 5000 Czech crowns, which is the equivalent of 200 euros.
When is my digital vignette valid?
Once you have successfully placed the order and paid for the electronic vignette, it may take between 5 and 20 minutes for the e-vignette to be issued. In exceptional cases, registration may take longer. We will notify you by e-mail as soon as your vignette has been registered. Only after you have received the PDF vignette by email, you will be able to use toll motorways and roads. Until you receive a confirmation letter, you may not drive on the toll road.
Why do I need a vignette?
If you plan to drive on motorways or expressways in the Czech Republic, you need a digital vignette valid for the period of your travel. This vignette can be purchased and valid immediately simply by using our website and providing your personal information, vehicle details, and travel dates. Is the digital vignette valid for the whole of the Czech Republic?
Yes. The e-vignettes are valid for the entire length of the country, covering all Czech freeways and expressways. There are no road sections that require additional fees regardless of the vignette. By purchasing an e-vignette, you ensure that you can drive safely on all roads in the country.
